How Where the Wild Things Eat began
Thank you for stopping by our very first blog!
I’d love to share a little behind-the-scenes story about how Where the Wild Things Eat was born.
I’ve always loved cooking and experimenting with different seasonings and sauces but over the years, I learned that many of those products contain additives like MSG, artificial flavors, excess sodium and started looking for ways to create flavors naturally without relying on unnecessary additives. Then I began to wonder “What if I could create my own products to share with others who have similar needs?”. That question became the seed of Where the Wild Things Eat, a brand built on the belief that food could be both delicious and good for you.
Why we named it Where the Wild Things Eat
The name was inspired by Maurice Sendak’s classic story Where the Wild Things Are. My husband, Chris told me he was obsessed with the book as a child so out of curiosity I watched the movie and absolutely loved it!
The story follows a mischievous boy named Max who imagines traveling to a land of wild creatures and becoming their king only to realize the place he truly belongs is back home with his family.
That story of imagination and adventure felt like the perfect reflection of how I see food—an invitation to explore and play.
